Penny Cagan

Penny Cagan was elected to the WCC Board in September 2023.  In her recent role as the America’s Head of Operational Risk at UBS, she was responsible for the leadership, management, assessment, and oversight of the Operational Risk program in the Americas, including implementation of the Operational Risk Control Framework and engagement on Operational Risk matters with regulators. She is a thought leader with extensive experience in the Financial Services Industry, providing leadership and strategic direction to Operational Risk, Enterprise Risk, Research, and Compliance Departments. She is also a Lecturer in the Enterprise Risk Management Program at Columbia University.

She has a proven track record of leading large teams and delivering results, including- managing large Operational Risk departments. Penny Cagan was awarded “Outstanding Contribution to Operational Risk” from Operational Risk & Regulation Magazine, “Ten Years of Excellence Award”, and selected as one of the “Top 50 Operational Risk Professionals” by Operational Risk & Compliance magazine. 

She holds a BA in English Literature from University of Rochester and MFA in English Literature & Creative Writing Marketing from New York University.
