Our City Our Vote Rally for One Million Voices
WCC joined elected officials, community members, and the Our City Our Vote Coalition for a rally in Corona, Queens. The coalition celebrated reaching 34 co-sponsors and called on the New York City Council to immediately schedule a hearing on Intro. 1867.

A conversation about voting rights, current legislation, and the Our City, Our Vote, a coalition of nonprofits, activists, and politicians hoping to bring noncitizen municipal voting to New York City. Speakers were campaign leaders that included New York City Council Member Ydanis Rodríguez, Theresa Thanjan, and Yafa Dias. Participants learned about the New York City Council legislation, which was introduced by Council Member Rodríguez in January 2020; why it’s important; who it affects; and how to take action to support it.
