Please join us as we welcome back Vivian Lee, the Emmy-winning TV Journalist to guide our discussion on the state of civic engagement in NYC. Our panel will include three of NYC’s most respected leaders:
- Lurie Daniel Favors, Esq., Interim Executive Director, Center for Law and Social Justice, Medgar Evers College, CUNY;
- Ana L. Oliveira, President and CEO, New York Women’s Foundation; and
- Dr. Sarah Sayeed, Chair and Executive Director, NYC Civic Engagement Commission
WCC will be releasing a groundbreaking report, A Blueprint for Women’s Civic Engagement in New York City: Toward a More Just and Equitable Democracy. This publication will serve as a jumping off point for a robust panel discussion about the systemic barriers to civic engagement and how all sectors can collaborate to ensure a more just and equitable NYC in which all women are civically engaged.
It has been a challenging year and critical municipal elections are coming up this month—there is no better time to dive into this important work that is fundamental to the underpinnings of our democracy.
