About: What makes a story a good story? Whether you are telling one in a Zoom meeting, at a community event, a public hearing, or with friends, engaging stories have the power to captivate and spark change. This workshop will dive into the basics of good storytelling with a focus on how to tell stories with confidence and flair. Participants will learn tips to take their storytelling to the next level (whether for personal or professional settings), develop potential stories, and gain personalized feedback on their communication style.
Workshops are designed for participants 18+ who identify as women who are relatively new to civic engagement and come from historically disenfranchised communities. We especially welcome primary caregivers, and wage workers, Black, Indigenous, Asian, Hispanic, Latinx, low-income, and LGBTQ+ persons. The workshop community is inclusive of gender non-conforming and non-binary individuals and participants are encouraged to come as they are if that means a baby on your lap or a snack in hand!
