Debbie Roman
Debbie Roman is the Managing Director of Per Scholas New York, overseeing the campuses based in the Bronx, Brooklyn, and the six satellite classrooms across all five New York City boroughs. In her role as Managing Director, Debbie builds strategic partnerships with staff, community-based organizations, corporations, and private and public foundations to ensure the delivery of the organizational mission.
Debbie has over 15 years of experience in community engagement, workforce development, marketing, branding, and event management. Prior to joining Per Scholas, Debbie was the Vice President of Membership and Community Development at the Girls Scouts of Greater New York (GSGNY) as well as the Girl Scouts of Eastern PA, Director of CARE at the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island (JCCGCI), Year Up New York, and Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow (OBT). Her knowledge base includes specific insights into Hispanic markets.
Debbie holds an MBA in Marketing and an undergraduate degree in Communications.She also obtained her CNP (Certification NonProfit Professional). Debbie sits on the board of the New York City Employment and Training Coalition (NYCETC), is an Executive Board Member of the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, and a Board Member at Women Creating Change. Debbie lives in Brooklyn, NY, with her husband and her daughter.
