WCC Webinar with Commissioner Denise Miranda on Women's Priorities in NYC

New York, NY – April 28, 2026 – Women Creating Change (WCC) will host New York's Agenda for Women: A Conversation with Commissioner Denise Miranda on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 12:30 PM EST via Zoom. The virtual session will feature Denise Miranda, Commissioner for the New York State Division of Human Rights, in conversation about the state’s agenda and its impact on women and gender-expansive New Yorkers.

This webinar builds on the momentum of WCC’s State of NYC Women Conference, recent symposia on affordability and healthcare access, and the organization’s latest research on the challenges facing women across New York City. The session will connect those challenges, from economic stability and workforce opportunity to healthcare access and safety, to the policies and priorities shaping action at the state level.

New York State Division of Human Rights Commissioner Denise M. Miranda, Esq. said, “Community discussions are critically important as they provide a seat at the table for every voice to be heard, and to help inform our agency on the direct needs of the communities we serve. They often say, 'It takes a village.' We’ll bring that energy to life as we discuss important policy priorities impacting New Yorkers and highlight the Governor's work to make our state safer and more affordable for everyone."

From Local Realities to State Action

As part of WCC’s 2026 programming, this webinar reflects the organization’s commitment to connecting the experiences of women and gender-expansive New Yorkers to the decision-makers shaping policy at the state level. By creating space for direct dialogue with state leadership, WCC aims to strengthen the bridge between local realities and the priorities driving action in Albany.

Open to nonprofit leaders, advocates, grassroots organizers, and community members across NYC, this 30-minute interactive webinar is designed to inform, connect, and empower.
