Criminal Justice

To reduce the disproportionate impact of the criminal justice system on people of color and low-income families and to establish a criminal justice system built on the principles of rehabilitation, WCC advocates for policies that raise the age of criminal responsibility, promote community-centered models of policing and on-going oversight of police procedures, advance appropriate prosecutorial and grand jury reforms, prohibit the privatization of the prison system, and remove barriers to and advance the re-integration of formerly incarcerated individuals into society.
