WCC State of NYC Women Conference Announcement

Women Creating Change (WCC) is proud to announce its highly anticipated inaugural State of NYC Women Conference, taking place on October 14, 2025, at Civic Hall in New York City.

As New York City continues to tackle pressing social issues, WCC’s goal with the State of NYC Women Conference is to elevate the voices of women, particularly those from underrepresented communities, and to provide the resources, platforms, and support they need.

We are at a critical crossroads. With elections coming up and deepening gaps in health, safety, education, and the economy, women across the city are stepping up. Women of color, women facing financial hardship, and gender-expansive people are doing the hard work of creating change; but their leadership is still too often overlooked and underfunded.

The State of NYC Women Conference is an opportunity to build lasting partnerships and find your next collaboration with women whose work is grounded in community and has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and challenging systemic inequalities.

"This is the launch of a citywide movement powered by women’s leadership and civic action," Sharon Sewell-Fairman, President & CEO of WCC

Should you join?

We will convene 250 changemakers, community partners, funders, elected officials, education institutions, unions, private sector, and grassroots organizations, all committed to reimagining civic engagement and advancing equity.

The State of NYC Women Conference will leave you energized, connected, and equipped, and ready to lead change in your community, your organization, and across New York City.

About

Women Creating Change (WCC), formerly known as the Women’s City Club of New York, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan activist organization dedicated to advancing women’s rights and shaping the future of New York City. Founded in 1915, WCC works to advance gender and racial equality by equipping women of color, women experiencing financial hardship, and gender-expansive individuals, with the knowledge, tools, and resources to advocate for the issues that matter most to them. WCC collaborates with partners, policymakers, and advocacy groups to drive real change in economic opportunity, education, healthcare, safety, reproductive justice, and environmental justice. WCC connects women with key stakeholders to learn, act, and engage. We empower women to lead change, shape policy, and strengthen communities, redesigning systems for a more equitable New York City. At WCC, we believe every woman has the power to make a difference. Visit wccny.org.
