Young women cite a variety of reasons for joining the Women’s City Club. They’re seeking to learn more about public policy and current issues facing the City, and to stay well informed; they have opportunities to meet politicians and other key players in our civic life; and they’re eager to advocate for sound, progressive policies. They also enjoy great networking opportunities, both with their peers and longer-term members who’ve made their mark in varied careers and in public life.
Here’s what some members have to say:
- “I wanted to become more aware of issues facing the City.”
- “There’s good peer and intergenerational networking. I’ve learned a lot from members who are older than me.”
- “It’s a way for recent college graduates to get knowledge, experience and connections.”
- “I like being part of something important and greater than myself.”
- “I wanted to grow as an individual, and to explore a range of interests.”
