WCC launches 2024 Annual Report

We are proud to launch our 2024 Annual Report. In a year of growing challenges, we remained steadfast in our mission. See how we continued to show up and drive impact.

Why Civic Engagement Matters!

Too often young people and communities of color are left out of the civic process. At WCC we’re changing that. Our goal is to equip women of color, women experiencing financial hardship, and gender-expansive individuals, with the knowledge, tools, and resources to advocate for the issues that matter most to them.

This report shows what’s possible when we act together. But our work isn’t done.

What We Achieved in 2024

Overview

In 2024, Women Creating Change advanced our mission to empower women and gender expansive individuals, particularly women of color and those facing economic hardship, through civic education, advocacy, leadership development, and community engagement across New York City.

Amid economic uncertainty and ongoing challenges to equity, we delivered bold impact through research, leadership development, strategic partnerships, and policy advocacy, grounded in our five strategic pillars: Economic Justice, Environmental Justice, Education, Health and Reproductive Justice, and Safety. We mobilized, supported leadership, and helped advance policy alongside communities historically excluded from decision making. The 2024 Annual Report is more than a reflection. It is a roadmap for building civic power.

Report Highlights

  • 281,000+ people were reached through our reproductive justice campaign with the New York Liberty.
  • 5,000+ stakeholders engaged with our Unequal Ground pay equity report.
  • 94% of leadership cohort participants feel more confident taking civic action.
  • 20 emerging civic leaders were trained through our inaugural cohort.
  • 1,915 visitors used the Civic Matters Hub for tools and resources.
  • 1,345 new supporters joined our growing community.
  • A 3.5% cost-of-living increase was secured for human service workers through the #JustPay campaign.
  • 188,200+ New Yorkers were reached through featured media.

Looking Ahead

In 2025, WCC is expanding its leadership programs, deepen partnerships with grassroots and academic organizations, and continue to drive systemic policy reforms centered on reproductive justice, economic justice, and civic access. With a refreshed brand and a growing community of allies, WCC is committed to building a more just, equitable, and inclusive New York City where every woman has the power to lead and influence change.
