2022 WCC Annual Report: Civic Matters
Announcing the release of WCC's 2022 Progress Report: Creating connections, community and changemakers in NYC!
2022 was an ambitious and impressive year for WCC—a period of growth during which our Civic Matters initiative continued to thrive and disrupt systemic barriers to civic engagement for historically underrepresented and
disenfranchised women in NYC. We refined and expanded our programming, created and unveiled new opportunities for learning, and increased equitable civic participation. We welcomed many new, committed, and dynamic women to the WCC community.

“The WCC Civic Matters workshops are a place to go, find community, and learn how to be leaders of change.
They instill a sense of solidarity that propels women into confident action.”
At WCC, 2022 also was a year of transitions. We were sad to bid farewell to our outgoing President & CEO, Carole J. Wacey, who led WCC during a critical period—steering the organization through a strategic planning process that resulted in our new name, vision, mission, and program focus.
About
Women Creating Change (WCC), formerly known as the Women’s City Club of New York, is a nonprofit, nonpartisan activist organization dedicated to advancing women’s rights and shaping the future of New York City. Founded in 1915, WCC works to advance gender and racial equality by equipping women of color, women experiencing financial hardship, and gender-expansive individuals, with the knowledge, tools, and resources to advocate for the issues that matter most to them. WCC collaborates with partners, policymakers, and advocacy groups to drive real change in economic opportunity, education, healthcare, safety, reproductive justice, and environmental justice. WCC connects women with key stakeholders to learn, act, and engage. We empower women to lead change, shape policy, and strengthen communities, redesigning systems for a more equitable New York City. At WCC, we believe every woman has the power to make a difference. Visit wccny.org.
