A free Community Dinner & Workshop with CXSE BK, Caribbean Equality Project, and Flatbush Mixtape
How to Influence Decision Makers
Women Creating Change (WCC) is partnering with Central and South East Brooklyn Community Development Corporation (CXSE BK), Caribbean Equality Project, and Flatbush Mixtape to host a free community gathering for women and gender-expansive people in Central Brooklyn.
The gathering will include a community dinner followed by a facilitated advocacy workshop on power mapping, the art of identifying who has influence with decision makers and leveraging relationships with them to create change.
This workshop brings Central Brooklyn community members together to build the skills and relationships needed to drive change on the issues that matter most, from environmental justice to maternal healthcare, LGBTQ+ and immigrant rights, and mutual aid in support of resilient neighborhoods. Power mapping is a practical advocacy tool that helps you identify who has influence over the decisions affecting your community and how to move them.
It is used by organizers and advocates across the country, and you do not need any prior experience to learn it.
