Housing

In 1948 the WCC published a study about the living conditions of 3,279 families.

The economic crisis has put housing issues front and center for New Yorkers, especially for those with limited incomes and working families confronting job losses. WCC supports preservation and creation of affordable housing, especially as foreclosures, evictions and homelessness increase, and building owners cope with arrearages and escalating costs while trying to maintain their buildings.

In collaboration with a number of housing organizations, WCC analyzes complex housing issues at the federal, state and local levels. We educate our members, recommend policies and work for solutions that will benefit each and every New Yorker.
