Rachel Barrett, Volunteer Coordinator

Rachel Barrett joined the WCC in January of 2011 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin- Madison with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Political Science and International Studies.  In college, Rachel interned for Senator Kohl and Governor Jim Doyle where she gained knowledge of the legislative process on both the state and federal levels.  Her non-profit experience includes being co-president of Wisconsin-Madison’s Amnesty International chapter. While leading Amnesty International’s human rights initiatives she developed a passion for advocacy work.  In her current role as Volunteer Coordinator for the WCC, she provides efficient day-to-day program operations, as well as membership and committee support. Lauren Clark, Director of Program and Administration

Lauren ClarkLauren joined the WCC’s staff in December of 2010, where she serves in a senior role in the WCC’s program, communications, and advocacy activities.  Previously, she served as the Coordinator for Fundraising at Contexticon Learning and Research, Inc., a nonprofit which produces academic reference materials.  Her interest in public service was developed as an aide to an Ohio State Senator, where she led legislative initiatives, researched and analyzed policy, and produced communications materials.  She holds a master’s degree concentrating in religion, ethics, and politics from Harvard University, as well as a bachelor’s degree with dual concentration in communication and religion from Denison University.  Email Lauren.

Samantha Moore, Membership and Development Coordinator

Samantha joined the WCC in January of 2011 as its Membership and Development Coordinator.  She maintains membership and development systems, supports programs work, and provides other administrative and technical assistance. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology & Anthropology, Communications minor, from Messiah College.  Her passion for local advocacy developed during a year-long study program at Temple University, where she examined urban anthropology, gender issues, and social change.  She has previously interned at nonprofit associations in Pennsylvania, including a community foundation and holistic housing organization. Jinseul Park, NY Leadership Academy Intern

Jinseul joined the WCC in January 2012 as an administrative intern. Her interest in public relations, women’s issues and local advocacy led her to the WCC as part of her internship with the NY leadership Academy. She supports general office work and assists with events, promotional communications and marketing materials. She is currently a senior at Dong-guk University, majoring in English and Business Administration. She has previously interned at Binggrae, the dairy cooperation in Korea, where she developed her knowledge of and interest in marketing and public relations. As part of her internship, she looks forward to attracting more public attention to the WCC and current women’s issues. Email Jinseul.

Kurt Richwerger, Bookkeeper

Kurt, who joined our staff in September 2007, has two decades of experience in finance and bookkeeping in the public and private sectors. He worked as an analyst with the NYC Office of Management and Budget’s revenue unit, then moved to the New York City Council’s Finance Division, helping the Council take on newly mandated charter powers. Moving to the non-profit sector, he worked for the Citizens Budget Commission and later, the Association for Union Democracy (AUD), a civil liberties organization for the labor movement, where he continues as its executive director. Kurt volunteers as chief bookkeeper for the 4th Street Food Co-op in Manhattan. He earned a master’s degree in Urban Affairs from the New School for Social Research.  Email Kurt.
